SPECIAL PROGRAMS
As part of our curriculum, each program participates in several enrichment activities.  All
specials meet several times per  week.  Whether or not your child participates in a particular
program will depend on the number of days they will be attending school.
PHYSICAL FITNESS
Our Fitness program, taught by Mr. Rob Agnoli,  is
designed to offer children an opportunity to develop their
large muscles as well as introduce them to basic
sportsmanship skills.  This is achieved through a variety of
group games and other fun, strength-building activities that
will help develop skills such as skipping, hopping, jumping,
and throwing.  Yoga and stretching activities will also make
up a part of our fitness program. Good sportsmanship is
always encouraged through a positive attitude and team
approach.  The gym program is held twice a week.
SIGN LANGUAGE
All students participate in this wonderful, interactive
program.  Director, Miss Toni Ambrosino, will be working
with all students to introduce them to basic signs and songs
utilizing the Signing Times program.  Manipulatives and
other hands-on materials will be used as part of the
curriculum.  Sign Language is held twice a week.
MUSIC
Music is an integral part of every classroom.  The children
will be working with an array of instruments and learning
many new songs in a very hands-on setting.  Teachers will
also be using rhythm instruments and CDs to introduce
children to basic beats and rhythms.  Movement activities
such as marching, dancing and dramatic interpretation are
also part of the music program.
COOKING
Students will develop language and math skills during their
classroom cooking time.  Children will have an opportunity
to make basic "kid-friendly" items while learning many
essential skills, which will include developing fine motor
skills.    Age-appropriate cooking activities will correlate
with the current  theme of each classroom and will include
a story relative to the  theme of the week as well.  Food
allergies are taken into consideration and modifications will
be made!  Children love this hands-on learning experience
and look forward to the many fun recipes they will be
making!
LIBRARY
Our PreK and Kindergarten students will have a weekly
library session where they will be allowed to take home a
book from their classroom library.  Books must be
returned each week in order for children to check out
another book.  This opportunity allows children to learn
how to be responsible and care for books.
COMPUTERS
Students will have scheduled computer time in their
respective classrooms each week.  Children will have the
opportunity to work on age-appropriate activities such as
math, spelling, reading and thinking games.  Even
beginners will feel a sense of accomplishment when
learning to manipulate the mouse for the first time!
