Our 3 1/2 year old daughter started Stepping Stone E.L.A. late into the school year (March 2010). She was welcomed with open arms by the director, Toni, and her new teacher, Miss Shanda. Also, we can't forget fun-loving Miss Lisa and Miss Kimberly, too. Our daughter has adjusted so well to her new environment and classmates. She absolutely loves her time there. My husband and I are extremely happy with the choice we made. Everything at Stepping Stone, from the toys to the paperwork, is so organized but yet they are extremely flexible, as well. When my son was younger, he was enrolled in several commercial daycare/preschool centers that each ended abruptly due to issues with the children not being properly supervised. When it came time to enroll him into a preschool, I was more than a little apprehensive about re-entering him into a similar environment. My first visit to Stepping Stone occurred in late Summer '09. Toni, the school director, was supervising 12 summer camp students who were eating lunch. The school was clean and the students were well behaved. When she spoke, they listened. Needless to say, we decided that this was the school for my son. My son has been attending Stepping Stone for a year now and he absolutely loves it. Toni and her staff have provided a structured environment in which my son has flourished. He now knows the majority of his ABC's, he can count well pass the number 10, he recognizes his own name and the letters that start his friends' names, and he knows his days of the week. When he is asked about school, he simply glows while explaining who his friends are and what they made today in arts and crafts. He has been introduced to new activities and adventures that he loves. He has been to the pumpkin patch, seen the Wizard of Oz on stage, performed his first concert, and has gone bowling, just to name a few.
