SHARING IS CARING!
Stepping Stone Early Learning Academy
Sharing Corner
As part of our curriculum, Stepping Stone works closely with community
organizations throughout the state in a way to help teach young children how
important it is to "share" with others.  This concept is sometimes very difficult for
young children to understand, yet is an integral part of maturing and becoming a
caring and loving person in our society.

It is our hope to incorporate the concept of sharing and caring into each
classroom so that our students begin to have a general understanding of how
good it can feel to help and share with someone else.  Besides being reinforced
through daily activities within the classroom, Stepping Stone also has a "Sharing
Corner", which is set-up near the front entrance.  Each month the "Sharing
Corner" will take on a new theme, which will be based around different
community organizations that need our help with donations.  The children will
actively participate by bringing in items that are relative to the month's theme, as
well as helping to put together all of the donations at the end of the month for pick
up.  Visitors from the different organizations may also come in to discuss with the
children a little bit about their program and how the donations are going to help
the people who need them.

Some of the organizations we will be working with are NORWESCAP,  The First
Book Program, Domestic Abuse and Crisis Center,
C.L.A.W.S Cat Rescue,
"Cakes for Kids", Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Warren County,
Prevent Child
Abuse NJ, Ronald McDonald House, American Red Cross... and more!

We believe that this initial introduction to community service is a wonderful way
to inspire children to stay actively involved in their community and beyond!
